This album becgan in 2007 with a song called "January First". I remember the excitement as I prepared to leave Stoke on Trent, possibly forever in the hope of relocating in Germany. I loved Germany. I felt at home in Heidelberg. It was of course the forests. I've learned that I need to visit forests very often to feel at peace. Well I managed to record on a laptop I later sold because I couldn't carry it (travelled for some weeks on foot up the river Neckar feeling really free, until the money ran out )
Songwriter Torben Franks was right "money is your blood". We gotta have it. Without it we can't stay in a fit state to theorize anything. Another lesson learned. As usual, the hard way. "In Search of a Pearl" is a step up from the "Handcrafted" album despite the technical shortcomings.
Did I find that pearl? Naaaaah, just a telling off from a musician friend at the end of my journey in Germany and the support of a very kind ally and her family when I came back to England with nothing.
Hey, maybe I did find that pearl after all.
